CYCLONE TECHNOLOGY SETS OUT PLANS FOR NETPREFECT MANAGED SERVICES PARTNER PROGRAMME

Network resellers urged to use netPrefect™ as the stepping stone to the potentially lucrative managed services market and generating new and recurring revenue streams

Cyclone Technology has set its plans to launch the netPrefect Managed Services Partner Programme and says that networking resellers will be able to use the scheme as a route into the growing market for remote infrastructure and network managed services.

The company intends to recruit up to six key partners who either already have a managed services proposition or are planning to launch one in the near future, for the programme, which will be fully launched in January 2009. Cyclone will fully engage with these partners with a view to developing significant business opportunities in the enterprise market and public sector.

Managing Director of Cyclone Technology, Maria Baxter, says that the company is eager to open discussions about potential partnerships with established networking resellers that either have, or are about to enter, the market for managed services. “With increasing pressure being placed on IT departments to reduce their on-going spend and network infrastructures becoming ever more convoluted and complex, the opportunities for resellers to address the remote managed services space are very significant indeed.”

Becoming a netPrefect partner could be a very good way to move into the market, she adds. “While some VARs have already started to address this part of the market, there are many more that are just about to enter the fray – in netPrefect, we believe that we have a solution that will help them to deliver something different and something that customers will really value. With netPrefect as one of the key components of their service, resellers would be going into the market with a really powerful and solid value proposition.”

As well as providing a comprehensive remote infrastructure management solution that supports a wide range of industry-standard protocols, netPrefect is unique in enabling MSPs to provide services on a pay-as-you-go basis. This gives them tremendous flexibility and an opportunity to offer customers more choices, says Maria Baxter. “The whole industry is moving towards managed and hosted services and increasingly, customers are going to want the option to pay only for the time that they actually use a service – netPrefect enables resellers to give customers that choice.”

Service can still, of course, be provided on a subscription basis or as part of a wider manager services offering, she adds. “We envisage different partners using and offering netPrefect in different ways and we’ll be quite prepared to work with them to tailor the system to meet their specific needs and the needs of their customers. Network management is a dynamic market and with the current financial pressures on corporations and public sector bodies, it’s going to be important to be flexible and to ensure that you can deliver exactly what the customer wants.”

Cyclone plans to fully launch the netPrefect Managed Services Partner Programme – full details of which will be made available over the next few weeks – in the New Year. Further information will be released as soon as it is available.
