Install the WinConsole Agent on your Microsoft Windows servers and workstations and:
- Connect via telnet to the Agent and use a command line interface to perform commands even if the user at the system has an unresponsive keyboard and mouse! Typical commands include:
- Show running processes
- Stop running processes
- Log out the current user
- Shutdown or Reboot the system
- Configure the netPrefect™ WinConsole transport to monitor the Agent and perform the following monitoring functions:
- Open an interactive console session with the Agent from the netPrefect™ GUI, perform all of the commands as if using the telnet interface.
- All interactive communication is logged, timestamped and scanned for events
- Windows Event log for new entries
- Check that services are running
- Check that specific application data/log files exist
- Monitor application data/log files for appended data, and scan the new data for events
